Cheap holidays in Tenerife

by Wesley Hyde

It's fair to say that many of us find ourselves a bit strapped for cash every now again, but still crave that break away to rejuvenate. Tenerife, the largest of the Spanish Canary Islands located just off the west coast of Africa, attracts over 5 million tourists every year, and with such competition between hotels and resorts, makes it a great destination for budget holiday makers.

As well as offering a range of good prices as standard there are other ways of cutting the cost of your Tenerife holiday. Booking your holiday really early or last minute can both often ensure better budget prices, as can booking an all-inclusive package which means you get all your flights, accommodation, food and activities included at a lower price than if you pay as you go.

Tenerife may be one of the world's busiest holiday destinations, but there are still many quaint old towns and villages to check out for free. Those after a bit more adventure should shy away from organised day tours, and instead opt to hire a car or bike to explore the island which is much more purse friendly.

The island's many beautiful beaches and parks is why Tenerife is such a great holiday destination for budget holiday makers. Mostly for free (or at least cheap), tourists can explore the island's wonderful black volcanic beaches, pyramids and craters which is also a great way to avoid the busier (and more often more expensive) cities and resorts.

Of course a summer holiday isn't really complete without treating the family to a day at one of the big attractions, such as Tenerife's Aqualand and Siam Park water parks, and the Jungle Park animal attraction. Get the best prices when in Tenerife as the tourism operators will often have the best competitive prices. But if you do feel they're ripping you off, just book online instead to get the best deals.
